Bandai Namco Arts is paying homage to the classic sci-fi anime Ghost in the Shell with this polystone figure of Major Matoko Kusanagi based on the film’s main visual. The figure’s production was overseen by the film’s animation supervisor Hiroyuki Okiura and color designer Kumiko Yusa, and sculptor Nyaba has recreated the original visual in truly spectacular fashion in 3D figure form.

The cyberpunk world of the film is faithfully portrayed through all the wires, tubing, and internal mechanisms visible all over Motoko’s body, and the series’ themes about what it means to be human are conveyed through the contrast between the soft look of her delicate skin and the cold, hard look of her cybernetic parts.
